Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the development of the practice and services offered to our clients, managing a portfolio of SME business clients and advising in all areas to help clients maximise profits and minimise tax. Development of new, complimentary services for clients with a particular emphasis on provision of tax solutions.

Career
Started in practice in a large independent general practice in Altrincham in 1973 and worked through the firm managing a significant client portfolio. Briefly an Associate in a national practice before joining Milner Boardman as Managing Partner in 2003 with the remit to develop and grow the firm.

Affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Driven in everything I do, work hard and play hard and enjoy life to the full.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
Providing clients with innovative solutions particularly in the area of saving tax.  Making sure clients are aware of our solutions by ensuring that we are pro-active.

What are you most proud of?
My wife, children and Grandson, particularly all the high points, University, Graduation, Weddings, Christening and so on.

Your greatest achievement?
Completing my first marathon at the age of 50 and then improving on the finishing time since then.

What's your lifetime ambition?
To complete the Comrades Marathon a 56 mile ultra marathon in South Africa and make loads of money for my favourite charity the Children's Adventure Farm in the process. Hoping that the ambition might become a reality if I succeed in completing the run on 31 May 2015!

Favourite pastime?
Running, followed by a couple of ice cold beers.

Which famous person would be your dream work colleague & why?
I admire Seb Coe and Paula Radcliffe. Seb Coe comes across as a brilliant leader from whom anyone can learn and Paula's single mindedness and drive are things I hope to try to mirror in all aspects of life.

Favourite football team?
There is only one football team, Manchester United.
