Future of Altrincham

“Nothing to do with the day time job with this weeks blog as I want to talk about life outside the practice! Apart from running marathons around the world I am also actively involved as Head of the Finance for the private/public sector partnership known as Altrincham Forward which is striving to drive forward positive change in Altrincham Town Centre and bring back our thriving market town to its former glories, no small task! As an Altrincham lad, born and bred, this is something that I believe is important work to be involved in but, as an Altrincham business man I can see obvious commercial merit in having a thriving town centre. In this respect we will very soon start to see some really positive changes and I will use this blog to keep readers up to date on the challenges and changes ahead. The new hospital should open in mid 2014 paving the way for the demolition of the old hospital and complete re-vitalisation of the market area. This has already started with a new market operator about to be appointed to follow the remit of making the market area the heart of the town. There are also some very interesting developments around the sports centre/ice rink area and more news on those later! Work on the new Altrincham transport interchange will shortly see significant improvement to the bus/rail station which can only be welcome.” Tony Collier, Managing Partner
