The role of an accountant has changed dramatically over recent years

The role of an accountant has changed dramatically over recent years.  Our compliance services can be best categorised as the provision of something that people have to have but don't really see any value in (preparing tax returns, accounts etc) and historically this formed the biggest part of our work. However, over recent years, we have developed our services and recruited key team members so that we can focus much more on tax advisory work.  This is now a much bigger focus for us and our clients than compliance work.  In the last week alone we have completed tax advisory reports for clients on subjects as diverse as Inheritance Tax Planning, the tax treatment of asset sales post divorce and a Company buy back of own shares.  The outcome of these reports was significant potential tax savings extending into 6 figure sums! If you wish to consult our tax advisory team please feel free to contact Malcolm Storer or Joanne Cooper. Tony Collier, Managing Partner
