Tokyo marathon update

Well the run went beyond my wildest expectations! Having done so little training and been injured I really had low hopes. So I went and recorded my second fastest marathon with a 3.24.31!
The start of the race was a little chaotic, incredibly busy and they placed slower runners in the front pen (some Japanese association that gives runners a start in the front pen just by being members), this meant the first few miles were very frustrating!
Eventually it opened up and you could get into a rhythm and after that all went really well until 20 miles when the lack of training took its toll and the pace slowed a bit.
Impeccable amazing organisation at the end. Medal is superb! Very small but it mimics the Olympic Rings because Tokyo is 2020 host. Now for a beer or three.
Thanks to everyone in the for all there good wishes, it really meant a lot to me to have your support!
