Strategic plans for businesses

An area where we find ourselves advising clients more and more is in putting together strategic plans for their businesses. It is our experience that businesses that understand the personal goals of the owners as well as the corporate goals of their business are usually the most successful. They are driven to achieve their goals as, unlike most businesses, the know what those goals are. We are always happy to sit down and discuss with businesses what the barriers might be to success and help them find solutions to overcome those barriers. We are also keen to help clients have a clear written strategic plan. One that, for instance, might include a clear view on an exit strategy and how that can be achieved. Working with key partners we are well placed to link corporate goals to the finances and goals of the business owners. A great example of this is below:-

  • Clients current wealth including all personal assets + £250,000
  • Clients wanted to retire in 15 years and have an annual income of £25,000
  • There was clearly a massive gap between £250,000 and the capital required to produce £25,000 per annum (even at a 5% annual return, £500,000 was needed)
  • MBL work with the client to establish how that funding gap is filled
