The heat is on for CAFT supporters

Plucky participants, who underwent a two hour training session at CAFT's sports facilities on their incredible farm site near Knutsford, took to walking over red hot embers for the charity late last month. A scorching £5,500 was raised, as 32 braved their soles to raise money for The Children's Adventure Farm Trust. Friends and family cheered on the fire walkers as they put their best foot forward to support the charity which cares for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children. And just incase participants were worried there wasn't enough heat underfoot, the charity also put on a BBQ plus a bar which kept spirits high and there was even more flamin' good fun with the breathtaking display of stilt walking and fire dancing! Reptacular Reptiles brought along some of their scaly and eight-legged friends to challenge spectators to face their fears whilst those walking over the agonisingly hot 20ft distance were facing up to theirs! Tony Collier's firm, MBL has supported the charity for many years, and he said: "It was great to support CAFT by sponsoring the Firewalk which ensured that all the funds raised will go directly to CAFT to fund their amazing work down at the farm. "Everybody had such a great night and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves whether firewalkers or supporters.  Walking the coals was initially a bit scary but also very unusual experience that thankfully we all survived to tell the tale about!" Pippa Watton, Senior Events Fundraiser at CAFT, was pleased with the success of the event, and said: "This was a fantastic event which raised vital funds for our charity.  We are so grateful to all the participants who put themselves through this scary challenge and it was great to see so many of their family and friends there to support them".
