The Ultimate Human Race – update

I have been deeply touched by supporters generosity in sponsoring my attempt to complete one of the toughest road ultra marathons in the World, The Comrades marathon on 31st May, to raise funds for The Childrens Adventure Farm an amazing charity doing great work for disadvantaged and under-privileged children from all over the North West. To date I have had numerous donations from friends, clients and supporters including donations from as far away as the USA and also one from a fellow Comrades competitor in South Africa! So, a big thank you to all contributors to date, the children down at the adventure farm www.caft.co.uk are very grateful please see their Easter thank you.   I have however set myself a fund raising target that is as tough as the challenge and would be incredibly grateful for any further contributions. So please forgive this reminder but I am aware that many people have been away for Easter and wont have had opportunity to send donations during the holiday period. Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/tonycollier4caft where you can read more about the challenge. Training seems to be progressing well with 6 weeks to go. I am training approximately 10 hours per week with long 2 hour runs on Saturdays and near 4 hour runs on Sundays racking up almost 65 miles per week. Last weekend I completed the Manchester Marathon as part of my training.  It was suppose to be an easy paced  training run but conditions were perfect and my complettive instinct kicked in so I ended up running close to my best time with a 3.26 marathon and felt incredibly strong, probably due to all the Comrades training.  The size of themedal inthe picture is pretty impressive! After Manchester I  have 3 really challenging weeks of long distance training including one 40 mile hilly run around the hills of Macclesfield. Then I taper down towards the big day and Comrades 2015, The Ultimate Human Race. Thank you for all the support and good wishes. Tony Collier, Managing Director
